L.A. Lady

I'm a Hollywood native who's ready to spread the love for L.A. You'll be reading about my assorted adventures, nutty knitting and crochet projects, wacky and wonderful friends and whatever else I feel like yammering about. Don't forget shoes. Very important.

Thoughts?

This is just a quick supplement to tonight's post, but it deserved its own space.
I have been called upon to knit a scarf similar to one Bob Dylan wore on an album cover.

Now, I simply adore the recipient, though he was unaware of which cover I should reference.

Blood on the Tracks?

Desire?

Nah, I don't think it's this one.

Blonde on Blonde?

Let's see...Quintessential, classic, though a bit world-weary (but in a really good way).
Yup, I think it's this one.

But...
He seems to think that Dylan's scarf was done in large color blocks, and I can only wonder if I'll ever have a decade so thoroughly enjoyed as to confuse these patterns.

Any other thoughts, kids?

Random Ramblings and Projects

Hiya, kids!

Once again, it's been a while, so settle back for another lengthy one - not only have I been a
one-woman sweatshop, I've been a one-woman paparazzo...paparazza?

Hell, I don't speak Italian.

Last weekend, the weather was simply gorgeous, so I went to shoot a few favorite signs like...

and from a bit closer up...

This one makes me sad.
You natives will know what this is.

And you have to absolutely love Hollywood sometimes...

Really now, where else in the world would police tape be used as an artistic medium???

To continue with my weekend, I went here:

And they were having a sale across the street at the LOFT, so I bought some of this:

And some of this:

And even more of this:

Then I made some of these:

Please note the two fabrics used in the larger pillow:

And this is a frog from the Grafton:

Ahem, moving on...
This is me and my friend Erin.
She's so pretty, no?

Now here's another example of why Hollywood is such a great f#$%^ing town.
Does anyone think anything's amiss when a bunch of Santas go on a bar crawl?
Of course not!
Hey, Santa's been working very hard, and deserves a drink.
As do those who witnessed this gathering.

Poor Santa.
I always thought that his sack of presents would be a little bigger than this:

He brought an elf whose outfit seems to suggest a fondness for show tunes:

I then asked Santa for a serger for Christmas, but seriously, a big spool of thread wouldn't have fit in that sad little Santa sack.

Thank goodness he brought reinforcements:

Did I mention the Grafton frog?
